Terms of service
What omou is
omou is a minimal, AI-enhanced Gmail client. It connects to your Gmail account via Google’s official OAuth 2.0 flow and the Gmail API. The app is hosted on Vercel and runs primarily in your browser.
Your data
All email data is fetched directly from Google’s servers to your browser. omou does not maintain a database of your emails, contacts, or account information. OAuth tokens are stored locally in your browser and never leave your device except to authenticate with Google.
When you use AI features (summaries, chat, proofreading, action suggestions), the relevant email content is sent to Google Gemini via Vercel’s AI Gateway for processing. This data is not stored by omou after the response is returned. See our privacy notice for full details.
AI features
omou offers optional AI-powered features including email summarization, smart replies, proofreading, and daily briefings. These features send email content to Google Gemini for processing. AI features are optional and only activated on your request — no email data is sent to AI services without an explicit user action.
Google API usage
omou’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You also agree to comply with Google’s APIs Terms of Service when using omou.
Acceptable use
omou is a personal email client. You agree not to use it in any way that violates applicable law, Google’s terms, or in a manner that could harm the service or other users.
No warranties
omou is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, data integrity, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. The operator is smalltribe GmbH; see our legal notice for contact details.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of omou after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
